Struck to Brilliant Uncirculated standard, this UK 50p coin captures the steppe mammoth, one of the largest mammals to roam the Earth during the Ice Age. The predecessor to the woolly mammoth, this mighty giant had an average shoulder height of 4 metres and weighed around 10 tonnes. The reverse design features a scientifically accurate depiction of the steppe mammoth, designed by palaeo-artist Robert Nicholls. This coin has been created in collaboration with the Natural History Museum and expert guidance from palaeobiologist Professor Adrian Lister.
